A Significant Discovery On How Sugar Poses Threat To Our Health

If we want to keep ourselves less vulnerable to cardiac disease later in our life, we should try to avoid sugar. Even if you enjoy eating a sugary treat, you should know the facts and act accordingly.

It is the finding of the study made on people consuming added sugar for a long time that they are more prone to cardiac problems than those who include less added sugar in daily life. This happens because regular intake of sugar affects the status of triglycerides, lipoproteins and good cholesterols in a negative manner.

Researchers found an alarming yet cautionary information from the study by surveying 6000 people. They found that almost 16 percent people got their average daily calories from added sugar.

You may not believe that the greatest amount of sugar intake happened to be 46 teaspoons a day. Whereas the least amount of sugar is 3 teaspoons a day.

Nutritionists say that a woman may take six teaspoons and a man may take nine teaspoons of sugar daily. This is for processed and additive sugars.

There is a hope among researchers that food producers may become aware of these facts and thereby they may add less sugar in the food items. This will help people get fewer heart diseases. In the US, in some states people have to pay some kind of tax for the soft drinks and thereby consumption of the sugary drinks may come down.

If we want to reduce the intake of sugar through sugary soft drinks, we may think of imposing sales tax on these. That would reduce the intake to a considerable manner from 50 gallons to 40 gallons a year.

It is not heart disease alone but other complicated health problems that are also connected to sugar intake. It may lead you to become vulnerable to obesity, diabetes, hypertension and even stroke. All these facts are being found in different researches conducted by different organizations.
