Outdoor parties are usually casually-themed parties, with the barbecues, the beers, loud laughter, and the right people invited over to your place – your family and/or close friends.
While the outdoor barbecue may be fun, albeit sometimes boorish, the outdoor barbecue can be an elegant affair too, and here’s how you can do it.
Show Common Courtesy
Be sure to note any food restrictions or allergies and prepare alternate options. Don’t get caught unaware. Before anyone arrives for the party, make sure everything’s in order – the meat, the vegetables, as well as the table.
Create An Ambiance
The plates that you use for your event should ideally be white, as it mixes well with the casual serving pieces and cutting boards for outdoor gatherings.

Be Efficient In Cooking
Before the party, precook slow-cooking food like red meat, chicken and potatoes in the oven, in order to expedite the time spent grilling. When grilling, if you need more than one cooking temperature, mound some coals on one side to create a hot section and spread coals out on the other side for a cooler section.
Cooking Part 2 – Grill Effectively
If you are using skewers to grill, cut the larger pieces into chunks. Foil packets can be used to grill vegetables and fruit, such as onion rings, zucchini, or pineapple rings – this makes cleaning up much easier.
When basting, use two brushes -one green and one red. The green brush would be used for basting raw meat. The red brush will come in handy when basting the meat as it starts to cook. By using two brushes, you can reduce the risks of contamination.
