Anti Candida Diet – 7 Tips
Being on an anti Candida diet can be tough not just because of what you are giving up, but also for social occasions. But this diet does not mean you cannot enjoy yourself and the food that you eat. Here are some tips to help you through it.
Give yourself a chance to succeed: If you have a poor diet that is rich with foods high in sugars an anti Candida diet is going to be harder for you. Going cold turkey is not a good idea as you are more likely to quit the diet. Slowly cut out the foods you need to, until you reach the point where you can start the official week Cut out one type of food at a time each week, for example sugary foods one week, junk foods another, processed another.
Be positive Think about what you can eat rather than what you cannot. There are still a large variety of great foods with great tastes that you can eat.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Sometimes you may slip up, sometimes it might be an occasion where you had little alternatives, a friends birthday party and she insists you try her cake and so on. Just because you have something not on the diet once or twice is not a reason to give up the diet altogether. Just get refocused.
Be prepared. Carry snacks around with you just in case that are suitable. If you are going round a friend’s house for a coffee and nibbles, take your own nibbles.
Fill up and the good stuff before you go out. If you are going to a party where there are all those tempting finger foods, eat a big meal before you go so you are less likely to stuff yourself.
Be the decider when eating out. If you are going out on a dinner date call ahead to the restaurant to see what options are available. If there isn’t much you can have salads are on most menus today but be careful of the salad dressings!
Telling others. It helps when people around you know there are some foods you can’t have but letting the world know your diet is anti candida is of course embarrassing. Just say you have decided to detox for a while and most will maybe make a few jokes but leave you to it! Or blame your doctor!
