Cooking Chicken On The Stove

Before you begin cooking chicken you’ll need to gather some supplies: chicken breast (amount dependent on family or guest size), tongs, salt and pepper and a medium sized frying pan. If you’re very new to cooking anything other than a microwave dinner don’t worry, this is moderately easy, follow the rest of the instructions and you’ll feel like you’ve been cooking for years. It’ll taste that way too.

The first step is to get all of the chicken breasts washed. Like stated above it’s completely up to you how many you want to cook. You could just cook enough for that night or you could cook a little more to have leftovers. Make sure that you wash your hands immediately after handling raw chicken and before you touch anything else.

Take the frying pan that you gathered and put it on the stove. Be sure that you coat it with more than enough oil to allow the bottom to be completely coated. You’ll want the temperature to be on medium high when cooking chicken. To cook healthier and also get a better taste use extra virgin olive oil to coat your pan.

Now let the oil heat up and after a minute or two the oil is going to be hot and it’s time to begin cooking the chicken. Using a pair of tongs you’ll want to put the chicken into the pan. It’s likely the oils going to splatter a bit so don’t be alarmed. Put salt and pepper on the chicken to taste. When the bottom side takes on a golden brown color you’ll want to flip the chicken over. Cooking chicken is going to vary in time dependent on the stove but will usually take 4-6 minutes.
When the time comes you’ll want to turn the chicken over and you’ll then salt and pepper the other side to taste as well.

After flipping the chicken salt and pepper the other side to taste. After the other side is cooked you’ll want to cut a small piece off to make sure that it’s cooked all the way through before you take it out of the pan. Afterward you can remove from the pan and serve. Once you’ve finished, you’ll realize that cooking chicken isn’t much more difficult than that TV dinner. Soon you’ll be enjoying an amazing meal.
