When you look around you, you’ll notice that the air gets colder while the trees are starting to lose their leaves. Take notice on that old man winter that changes our landscapes, from being autumn oranges to winter white scenery.

I wait all year to pull down my Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations from the attic. Many people don’t decorate because of the lengthy process of hanging the decorations but, I relish this time spent and the anticipation of the final completed masterpiece.

Every year, I would always anticipate that moment where I need to bring out all my holiday decorations that have long been kept in the attic of my house. It’s sad that some people won’t take time to decorate due to the tedious process of hanging each decor, but not in my case though. I relish and enjoy the moment I spent hanging each of those beautiful Christmas ornaments, while feeling excited for the final completion of my masterpiece.

If you’re as excited about decorating as me, then you’ve probably spent all year long thinking about wonderful ideas and researching on some helpful tips in order to come up with a beautiful Christmas decoration. Something that I’ve learned from experience is to let your creative side take you over. And to add to that, here are more tips that will surely be very helpful to you whether you are new on Christmas decorating or not:

Try to decide ahead of time what you want your theme to be, it’s not crime to decide even a year ahead of time, and then you can buy decorations after the holidays when they are on sale! Stock up on plenty of lights, lights can be used anywhere and everywhere. You will never be left feeling like you bought too many lights.

It is very important to decide in advance what theme you want to come up with, so that you can buy your decorations early on. This will also allow you to take advantage of those early Christmas sale for Christmas decors. Stock up on these decors, so you will have plenty to use when it’s time to start decorating.

Some of the best decorations are homemade. Try making your own tree decorations. One cute example is to make a cranberry and popcorn garland for the tree. Or collect your own pinecones and use simple spray glue and sparkles to make easy and fun decorations for your tree. Making stockings is easier than you think and patterns can be found online.

Using several different accents for your Christmas decoration will surely make a big difference with your overall theme. You may also accentuate your decors with candles, as these things are becoming so popular nowadays. It will also add warmth into your home. Buy those candles that have holiday scents, such as those that smell like pine and freshly baked Christmas cupcakes or cupcake frosting.

Whatever you choose for your theme, don’t be afraid to switch it up every year. The great thing about holiday dcor is that it can be mixed and matched every Christmas for a whole new look. The more unique your decorating is each year, the more you will look forward to finding new design ideas for the following year!
