Explore Autumn Desserts Inspired By Apples & Halloween

During the fall months when the weather changes and the brisk cool breeze moves in, harvests of apples, squash, and pumpkins are right around the corner. These are what we like to call fall desserts.

Granted, apples are around every single day of the year, but they are served the most during the fall months. Let’s face it; there is nothing like a dessert built around fresh apples.

Then of course the holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving thrive on family get together and the apple desserts that are present.

You’ve got pumpkin cupcakes topped with carrot cake or pumpkin frosting, apple cake desserts with cinnamon and ginger spices, and several other tasty treats along the way.

If you’re looking for something that everyone will love then make a few pizza desserts. There are extremely popular today and absolutely delicious. All you need is a little soft cookie dough and some filling.

The best type of course will be a plainer cookie dough such as a butter cookie or a sugar cookie that will leave room for other flavors to take over. Enhancing the flavors, rather than competing with them is your goal for this part of the pizza dessert. Bake the cookie dough til its still soft but completely done and permit it to cool.

Then top it with apple pie filling. You can make a homemade version if you like, but one from a can will do just fine. Some people choose a cherry pie filling instead just to mix things up a bit for the guests. If you want to enhance your apple pie filling you can always sprinkle a few raisins over top, or even nuts.

Those who like the cherry options can finesse a few thin icing stripes along the top and sprinkle some dark chocolate curls on it. The flavor is magnificent, and others will want to know where you got your recipe.

Last but not least is the apple crisp. This scrumptious treat provides a nice warm apple pie just out of the oven. However, it’s the scoop of ice cream on top that provides us with the perfect hot and cold sensation in our mouth.

You can eat fall desserts that are hot or cold, but either way you’re in for a treat. They are a little heavier then you might expect, but they all bring in the harvest celebration.
