Get a Bagel Toaster for Your Kitchen

I totally enjoy bagels as a snack because you can pick and choose from so many sorts such as poppy seed, sesame seed, onion, cinnamon and raisin and I better not forget plain. You can get others however the list is extensive so I’ll move on.

At our home we had a standard toaster and not a bagel toaster. What’s the difference you ask? There’s probably not that much diversity with the basic models. A bagel toaster has a much bigger slot to accommodate the wider snack because if you squeeze a bagel into a standard sized toaster it’s going to burn because it’s so near the elements and you don’t want that.

Since it was time for us to ‘upgrade’ our toaster I decided to look closer at what we might get and of course I ended up buying one with all of the mod cons. I wanted something that had something to offer and I bought what I wished for with the Back to Basics TEM4500.

This toaster is created not only for toasting bread but muffins and bagels as well. It is a 4 slice toaster with dual controls. What this means is you can have one set of two slices doing something different from the other two slices. As an example I would place 2 slice of bread in a single side and on the other side I’d put my bagel. I then push the bagel button which tells the toaster to simply heat up one side of the bagel.

Another choice you might have with the twin control is to defrost two slices and cook another two.

Together with this there’s the choice to poach some eggs. This is still part of the toaster but sticks out to the side and you may program the toaster to cook the eggs plus your bagels at the same time. This full process takes in the region of 4 minutes for a very healthy, very substantial meal.

If you are in the market for a toaster then make sure its a Bagel Toaster. Also you should always go for a 4 slice bagel toaster and you’ll never have to upgrade again.
