Grill Glove Oven Mitt
The Grill Glove is one of the best As Seen on TV Items to be launched in a long time. Usually known for going a bit over the top, infomercials often paint wild pictures of the products claiming they can do just about anything but in this case it’s true. I’ve yet to find any negative comments about the Grill Glove and I’m searching hard.
As Seen On TV products appeal to us for a lot of reasons but the main one in my opinion is that they usually solve relatively simple problems that nobody else seems to address. The grill glove is a perfect example. When grilling, people struggle to control the food with clumsy tongs or other utensils, but they are not really efficient. We get used to using the things available to us and don’t really think there could be a better way.
I’m one of those people who loves to drop the food through the grill and I must say I’m really good at it. But, this isn’t really the goal when cooking out. I’m not really asked to man the grill very often but I want to get better at and learn to do it the easiest way possible. I can’t be the only one.
I think the grill glove is really the perfect idea for cooking out. It looks like a gardener’s glove but a bit bigger and it’s made of 100% food grade silicone. This just means it’s safe for cooking and doesn’t contain chemicals or carcinogens. You won’t get burned using this thing because it is heat resistant up to 500 degrees. In the commercial they put a blow torch to it as proof but I wouldn’t suggest trying this. But, when you are cooking you don’t need to worry about being burned and you don’t need to bring a bunch of other utensils outside with you.
Now you can count on it being easy to turn your hot dogs without losing them through the grill. Putting things on the cooking surface like kabobs, chops, steaks and chicken is a breeze and in case you put them in the wrong place you can spread them out easily without having to drag them around. You simply pick them up. This replaces just about any utensil I can think of accept the scraper.
Because it is an As Seen On TV product and they usually come with bonus offers, you actually get 2 for the price of one so you can have one for each hand. This really gives you a sense of command at the grill and you will wonder how you ever cooked without them. You will also get a regular looking oven mitt for inside. So when cooking you touch, grab and poke your food without any problem.
In my first try with the Grill Glove our grill was too crowded to do corn on the cob so we decided to boil it. It turns out you can just reach your hands into the pot and grab the corn with no worries. You won’t get burned or scalded so it’s possible you will find a lot more uses for it than just outside on barbeque.
As far As Seen On TV items go, I cannot find a single flaw in this product and that may be surprising to some. I can’t imagine anyone being dissatisfied with it and I don’t see any reason why it won’t replace the dirty charred oven mitts hanging in your kitchen right now. We are looking at the next big thing in the cooking industry and I think the infomercial guys got it right this time. What a pleasure using this product was.
