What you eat is a major factor in whether you will develop diabetes. A diet that is rich in fatty, salty and sugary foods is far more likely to cause diabetes than one that is filled with nutritious, healthy and natural foods. One particularly strong aggressor of diabetes is soda. Simply cutting out soda will significantly decreasing the likelihood of you developing diabetes. Some sources speculate that this one change will reduce your risk by one third. Other simple dietary changes include eating more fruits and veggies and less potato chips and candy. Not only will your body thank you but you won’t miss the junk after awhile.

There are number of factors within and out of your control that can cause diabetes to take place. Causes, such as genetics, gender and heredity are things you will never be able to control. Other factors, such as high blood pressure or diet are things that you can completely have control over. One of the better ways for you to keep the diabetes causes from taking over is to maintain the best health you can. Even the small choices, like what you snack on during the afternoon can be a trigger for whether or not you get diabetes.
