The glorious weather, marvelous culture and delicious food make Spain one of the well known destination of the world. Spanish recipes are often experimented with and the end result is a fusion of traditional recipes and modern styles. Spanish cuisine is greatly affected by Moorish, Greek and Roman cuisines. Spanish food is quite rich in flavor and spices and many food items use ingredients such as citrus fruits, chilli, beans, tomatoes, and potatoes.

Here, consuming wine with food is a cultural norm. Bread is served with almost all meals. Salads are extremely accepted, especially in the summer months. In dessert, fruit pieces and dairy items are regular dishes while tarts and cakes are prepared for special times.

A few well-known Spanish recipes are as below:

- Chorizo – A spicy sausage made from fatty pork seasoned with chili and paprika. There are two varieties: hot (“picante”) and sweet (“dulce”). Almost all the varities can be consumed cold, with the exception of few regions in Spain where this recipe and its variations would require further cooking. Chorizo can be consumed by itself or can be used in other food recipes.

- Gazpacho – A cold vegetable soup that is particularly popular in hotter areas such as Andalusia. Historically gazpacho was made from stale bread, garlic, olive oil, salt and vinegar, but today, bell pepper and tomato are also often added. There is also a variant called gazpacho manchego; which is served warm, and that includes meat (often rabbit) and mushrooms, and is more like a stew than a soup.

- Fried squid which is served as Calamares.

- Dry-cured ham known as Jamn Serrano.

- Paella – A rice dish originally from Valencia.. The essential materials used in this dish are olive oil, rice, saffron and this dish is normally seasoned with seafood, vegetables, and/or meat.

- Fabada Asturiana – A bean stew that also contains black blood sausage (“morcilla”), chorizo and pork, and which is flavored with saffron and other seasonings.

- Battered, Marinated, and fried fish is known as Pescato Frito.

- Tortilla de patatas – An onion and potato omelette.

- Olla Podrida – A rich stew with bacon, poultry or game, ham, meats and vegetables.

- Marmitako is a fish stew that is prepared from potatoes, tomatoes, pimentos, and onions.

- Churro- A conventional sweet. It is a fried pastry dough snack which is served with hot chocolate to dip it in.
