Who never hear this phrase: “Mother Knows Best”. This is a pretty usual line to hear. It is the mother that most of the times cooks in the family. She knows what food the family likes and what they dont. Nowadays mothers are starting to get jobs to help the husband providing family needs. This means that since the mother wont be home all day, when both get from work they will have to help each other. The father from 20-30 years ago would not help much at home, but the nowadays and future father should help at home by cooking or doing the needed tasks.
But still moms are pointed as chefs at home. This is one of the reasons that contributes to overweight. Since moms dont have the time they used to have to cook, most of the time the only solution will be to buy “read to eat” foods. As we all know most, if not all of this kind of foods are not has healthy as homemade food, and usually have loads of fat which increases obesity problems.
About 40 percent of men cook dinner at home but after the next two months, only 13 percent of all meals men prepared at home.
After several studies made, the reason why the percentage is decreasing is because most of them men dont like to cook and they think that it is not their role in their family to cook. This is completely wrong. The modern men/husband/father should know how to cook and do at least the basic tasks at home. Why does have the women/wife/mom to do anything?
In order to try to increase this percentage, many movements were created. To try to persuade them to cook, food magazines, cooking shows, and websites were made with that purpose.
All this effort did not deliver great results. In many homes the women is still the only one who cooks while the men is watching TV… Women could and should try to involve men when cooking. They should try to persuade them into cooking and some day. the women might be the one watching TV while the men is cooking.
Perhaps the only way to convince a father to cook is to bring the whole family into the kitchen. If everyone cooperate and help each other when preparing the meals, the father will see this as a bonding experience and might do it more times and even might start liking cooking.
