The Perfect Recipe For The Perfect Potatoes

You can surely find a lot of recipes which try to give you the chance to prepare rather a good meal of roasted potatoes. However many of you aren’t satisfied with just “rather” good and try to achieve perfect results. This is why we have created this article. It provides you with the recipe about how to create the perfectly roasted potatoes which are good enough even for the most exquisite of tastes.

Of course like every recipe you will need some ingredients, but they aren’t anything special. You need eight potatoes, 100g of vegetable or olive oil and seasoning herbs like salt and pepper. Besides that you will need some utensils – a big saucepan, a roasting tin, peeler and a fork.

After you have laid your hands on all this, you can start cooking the dish. The first thing you need to do is to skin and bowdlerize the potatoes. It is the best choice to use a potato peeler to skin the potatoes, however you could also use a knife, but it is not recommended. The reason why a peeler is better than a knife is not only that it is easier but the peeler also keeps the healthy vitamins inside the vegetable while if you use a knife you will probably ruin them. So, when you finish peeling the potatoes start cutting them approximately in the size of an egg. Don’t be worried if you miss the size by a bit, however strive for perfection.

Boil the potatoes in water using the saucepan for about 6 minutes, but don’t allow them to overcook. After this is done use the lid on the saucepan to drain the water without getting the potatoes out of the saucepan. After that, let the potatoes cool completely. While the potatoes are cooling prepare the roasting tin. Pour the oil in it and then put it into the oven to heat. The temperature should be 245C.

When the potatoes are cooled, just take the fork and carefully scratch the potatoes. When this is done, wait for the oil to start to fizzle and put the potatoes in and keep rolling them until all of them are covered with oil.

Afterwards put the roasting tin back into the oven and let the potatoes cook for about 50-60 minutes. Half-way through that time turn the potatoes to make sure that they get evenly crisped. They should have a crispy outside, but the inside must be soft. Then it is time to serve them, but be careful not to leave too many oil on them.
